Local Falcon has made it easier than ever to spot one of the most powerful indicators of local SEO dominance: a Google Knowledge Panel (KP) appearance.
Local Falcon users can now see when their business is featured in a Knowledge Panel directly within the Scan Explorer section of their Scan Reports.
This is a big deal because when your business is showing in a Knowledge Panel at a specific point on the map, that means you're the only result Google is surfacing there. No competitors, no distractions, just you!
What Is a Google Knowledge Panel?
A Google Knowledge Panel is a special box that appears on the right-hand side of search results (on desktop) or at the top (on mobile) when someone searches for a specific business, organization, or entity. It's generated by Google and includes key information like business name, address, hours, reviews, photos, and more.
In local search, a Knowledge Panel appears when Google is confident the user is looking for one specific business, not just browsing nearby options. KPs most frequently appear for branded searches, but can sometimes appear for non-branded searches as well.
If your business triggers a Knowledge Panel at a location, it means you've achieved top-of-mind status for that search and map point.
How To See When Your Business Is Shown in a Knowledge Panel Using Local Falcon
With this new feature, identifying Knowledge Panel appearances is simple:
- Run a scan like usual in Local Falcon.
- Navigate to the Scan Explorer at the top of your Scan Report.
- Look for data points marked with "KP", indicating that your business appeared in a Knowledge Panel at that spot.
- Click on the data point to verify which businesses were found there. If your business is featured in a KP, you'll be the only one listed!
This makes it easy to spot high-performing areas in your geo-grid where your business is dominating the local map, a valuable insight for understanding where your local presence is strongest.
