Share of AI Voice (SAIV) is a metric that shows how visible your brand is within AI-generated search results for a specific query and area. When you run a Local Falcon visibility scan using one of the available AI data sources, your report will display a SAIV score instead of Share of Local Voice (SoLV).
SAIV measures how often your brand is mentioned inside AI summaries and answers for the keyword and area you scanned. If an AI summary is triggered and includes any brand mention — and yours appears — we count that toward your score. AI summaries with no brand mentions at all are excluded.
A higher SAIV score indicates your brand is playing a larger role in the AI-generated "conversation" for that topic across your local area. This can signal increased relevance, brand awareness, and potential customer engagement.
Your SAIV score is always out of 100, representing the percentage of AI summaries across the geo-grid where your brand was detected.
For example, if you run a Google AI Overviews visibility scan for the keyword "what are the best web designers in Eerie for small businesses?" and receive a SAIV score of 81.16, that means your business was mentioned in 81.16% of the AI-generated summaries that included any brand mention.
A SAIV of 0 simply means your brand did not appear in any AI summaries for that scan. Note that longer, more conversational queries are more likely to trigger AI visibility, so if your SAIV is 0, try scanning for more AI-style search queries. You can generate a list of locally relevant AI-style keywords using Local Falcon's Local Keyword Tool.
Unlike traditional local search, AI-generated results aggregate information into conversational summaries rather than ranked lists. This means SAIV is not about appearing in the "top 3," but rather about how much your brand is "part of the AI conversation."
You can use your SAIV score to:
Because AI summaries behave differently from map pack rankings, even small SAIV differences between you and a competitor may indicate an easy path to improving visibility. It could just be a matter of reviewing the source information in the report and identifying a couple of places to strengthen your citations or reviews.
As with SoLV, monitoring changes in SAIV over time helps you understand how your optimizations impact AI visibility.
In addition to comparing individual Scan Report results, you can also check your Trend Reports, which automatically aggregate data for the scans you've run with the same parameters. This lets you:
Treat SAIV as a directional indicator of brand strength in AI-driven search experiences, which are becoming increasingly influential when it comes to local business discovery.
