How To Use the Pin Toggle Lasso To Customize a Geo-Grid

Customizing the geo-grid for a local rank tracking or local AI visibility scan ensures you're collecting data from the areas most relevant to your business (i.e., where your potential customers are searching from).

You can disable individual scan points (geo-grid data points) by clicking on them, which is fast enough if there are just a couple points over water or another unpopulated area that you don't want to collect data from. 

However, if you want to quickly customize the geo-grid to outline a service area or better reflect the areas most of your customers actually come from, you can use the Pin Toggle Lasso tool to toggle larger groups of data points off or on for the scan.

Customizing the Geo-Grid for a Quick Scan

1. Start a new Quick Scan.
2. Choose your geo-grid's radius and size, making sure the grid covers the whole area you want to scan.
3. Click the Disable All Map Pins button (skip this if you want to toggle groups of scan points off instead of on).
4. Click the Pin Toggle Lasso button in the bottom right-hand corner of the map scan tool.
5. Click and hold your cursor on the geo-grid near a point somewhere near an edge of the area you want to scan.
6. Trace a line from point to point around the full area you want to scan.

Note: If you make any mistakes, you can click on individual map pins to toggle them on or off. You can also click the Enable All Map Pins/Disable All Map Pins button to start fresh.

Customizing Campaign Scan Geo-Grids

1. Start a new Campaign Scan or edit an existing one.
2. Click the Modify Map Grid button (map pin icon) next to any location in the campaign.
3. Hit the Disable All Map Pins button (skip this if you want to toggle scan points off instead of on).
4. Click the Pin Toggle Lasso button in the top right-hand corner of the geo-grid pop-up.
5. Drag the lasso around a group of scan points to toggle them on and define the area you want to scan.
6. Use the Enable All Map Pins/Disable All Map Pins if you need to start over or click on individual data points to finish customizing the geo-grid.
7. Repeat this for all campaign locations you want to customize the geo-grids for. Every location can have a unique scan shape.
