How To Run a Quick Scan in Local Falcon

Last updated on 11/27/2025, 3:51 PM

Running a Quick Scan is the fastest way to start tracking your visibility in Local Falcon. Quick Scans let you measure how your business appears across Google, Apple, and leading AI-powered search platforms.

Follow the steps below to run your first scan in just a few minutes.

1. Log in to or sign up for a Local Falcon account

If you don't already have an account, you can sign up directly from the Local Falcon dashboard. Once you're logged in, you'll be taken to your main workspace.

2. Select "Quick Scan" from the navigation menu

Quick Scan is available directly in the left sidebar. This takes you to the main scan builder screen with the interactive map and scan settings.

3. Choose a data source for your scan

Use the first drop-down menu at the top of the map to select where you want to measure visibility from. Local Falcon supports multiple local search platforms, including:

  • Google Business Profile

  • Apple Business Connect

  • Google AI Overviews

  • Google AI Mode

  • ChatGPT

  • Gemini

  • Grok

Each scan source measures visibility differently, so you can run multiple scans to compare how your business appears across platforms.

4. Set your location

You must choose the business location you want to scan.

Recommended: Connect your Google account

Connecting your Google account allows you to import all Google Business Profile locations instantly. This saves time and ensures your data is fully synced for reporting and ongoing tracking.

If you prefer not to connect a Google account, you can still:

  • Search for a location manually

  • Add a location by entering the business name or address

Once the location is available, select it from the second drop-down menu.

5. Add keywords to scan

Use the third drop-down menu to choose terms you want to track:

  • Select from suggested keywords populated automatically based on your business category and AI-generated suggestions

  • Or enter keywords manually

If you need help building a list of targeted keywords, you can also use the Local Keyword Tool — and launch a new Quick Scan directly from within that tool once you've finished your research.

6. Confirm your scan settings

Before running your scan, review the remaining options:

Radius & grid size

Adjust the:

  • Radius (how far out from your location the scan measures)

  • Grid size (how many data points are used)

These settings determine:

  • How much area your scan covers

  • How detailed the grid is

  • How many credits the scan will use

Disable unnecessary scan points

If your scan includes points over water, highly industrial zones, or other irrelevant areas, you can click any point on the map to disable it. This prevents spending credits on data you don't need.

7. Click "Run Scan"

Once everything is set, click the Run Scan button.

  • Local Falcon will process the scan in the background

  • You'll receive a notification as soon as your Scan Report is ready
