How To Read an AI Visibility Scan Report

Last updated on 4/1/2026, 11:29 AM

Local Falcon's AI Visibility Scan Reports give you a geo-grid view of how often your business is mentioned by AI platforms, such as Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Grok, for a given keyword across the scanned area. These reports use a similar format to standard Local Falcon's traditional local ranking Scan Reports for Google and Apple Maps, but the metrics they contain are unique to AI search and measure a fundamentally different kind of visibility.

AI Visibility Scan Info

At the top of any AI Visibility Scan Report, you'll see the details of the scan itself: the AI platform scanned, the keyword used, the grid size, the scan radius, and the business name and address. This context is important since AI visibility results can vary significantly across platforms and keyword types.

AI Visibility Scan Report Metrics

Below the scan details, you'll see three core AI visibility metrics: SAIV, ARP, and ATRP. These replace the SoLV, ARP, and ATRP scores found in standard local rank tracking Scan Reports, and they measure visibility differently.

Share of AI Voice (SAIV)

Share of AI Voice (SAIV) is the primary performance metric in AI Visibility Scan Reports. It represents how often your business was mentioned in AI-generated results across all grid points in the scanned area, expressed as a percentage of the total possible mentions.

For example, an SAIV of 47 means your business appeared in AI-generated results at 47% of the grid points scanned for that keyword. A higher SAIV indicates broader AI visibility across the geographic area.

SAIV is the AI equivalent of SoLV in Google Maps rank tracking, but where SoLV measures how often you appear in the top 3 positions of the local pack (Google's 3-Pack), SAIV measures how often AI platforms mention your business at all, since AI results don't work with the same defined ranking positions as traditional local search.

Average Rank Position (ARP) and Average Total Rank Position (ATRP)

AI Visibility Scan Reports also display ARP and ATRP scores, but it's important to understand what these mean in the context of AI search — they are not formal rankings the way they are in traditional local search results.

AI platforms don't predictably return a ranked list of businesses the way Google Search and Maps do. Instead, when AI mentions multiple businesses in a response, they often appear in a conversational sequence. Thus, the ARP and ATRP in AI Visibility Scan Reports reflect the average order of mention — essentially a pseudo-ranking that tells you how early or late in an AI response your business tends to appear.

A lower ARP means your business tends to be mentioned earlier in AI responses, which generally correlates with being perceived as more relevant or prominent. A higher ARP means your business is mentioned later in the sequence, or less consistently across the grid.

Note that the ARP reflects average order of mention only across results where the business was actually mentioned, while the ATRP accounts for average order of mention across all responses in the scanned area.

Buyer Persuasion Score (BPS)

Alongside the AI visibility metrics, you'll also find the Buyer Persuasion Score (BPS) — a measure of AI brand sentiment unique to Local Falcon's AI Visibility Scan Reports with no equivalent in standard local rank tracking reports.

BPS measures how persuasive the language used is when the AI platform describes your business when it mentions you. It's scored on a scale from -10 to +10:

  • Positive scores (up to +10) indicate the AI is characterizing your business favorably — recommending it, highlighting strengths, or framing it as a top choice.
  • Scores near 0 indicate neutral mentions with little to no positive or negative framing.
  • Negative scores (down to -10) indicate the AI is describing your business in a way that could actively discourage a user from choosing it.

BPS matters because being mentioned by an AI platform isn't inherently valuable if the mention is neutral or negative. A business with a lower SAIV but a high BPS may be generating more customer action than a business with a higher SAIV and a poor BPS.

Scan Explorer

Below the metrics, you'll see the interactive scan grid showing all of the geo-grid points within the scanned area. Each grid point is color-coded to reflect whether your business was mentioned by the AI platform at that location for the scanned keyword.

  • Green points indicate your business was mentioned and appeared early in the AI response.
  • Yellow and orange points indicate your business was mentioned but later in the sequence.
  • Red points indicate your business was not mentioned at that grid point at all.

Clicking on any individual grid point will show you what response the AI platform returned at that location, including which businesses were mentioned and in what order.

Falcon AI Analysis

If Falcon AI was enabled (it is by default) when the scan was run, an AI-generated analysis will appear below the Scan Explorer. For AI Visibility Scan Reports, this analysis focuses on your SAIV performance across the grid, how your sentiment and BPS compare to competitors, and what steps you can take to improve both how often and how favorably AI platforms mention your business.

Brand Phrases

The Brand Phrases section shows the specific words and phrases AI platforms associate with your business when mentioning it in responses. Each phrase is tagged with a sentiment indicator — positive, neutral, or negative — so you can see not only that your business is being mentioned, but how it's being talked about.

This section is useful for understanding what attributes AI platforms are picking up on from your online presence — things like reviews, website content, and third-party sources — and whether those associations are helping or hurting your visibility and persuasiveness in AI results.

Brands Mentioned

The Brands Mentioned section shows which competitor businesses were mentioned in AI results across the scanned area. For each competitor, you can see their SAIV and ARP/ATRP scores, giving you a side-by-side view of how your AI visibility compares to theirs. This section helps you identify which competitors are dominating AI results for a given keyword and location..

Source Information

The Source Information section is unique to AI Visibility Scan Reports and shows which web pages and online sources the AI platform cited or drew from when generating results that mentioned your business or your competitors.

This is valuable because AI platforms synthesize information from a wide range of sources, including review sites, directories, social media, your own website, news articles, and other third-party content. Knowing which sources are being referenced can help you:

  • Identify which platforms and directories are influencing your AI visibility most
  • Spot missing or outdated citations that may be limiting your mentions or weakening sentiment
  • Understand why competitors may be getting stronger AI visibility or brand sentiment (e.g., they're listed on high-authority sources you aren't)
